According to the Pacific Business News, the $1B Mandarin Oriental Honolulu hotel and condominium project stated that sales of a limited number of units began on 10/1/19. The first round will be a “friends and family” program, with prices starting at $3.5M. The developer, Manaolana Partners, expect the ground breaking in the fall of 2019, with a projected completion date of early 2022.

The 36 story tower will be on Kapiolani Boulevard and Atkinson Drive, across from the Hawaii Convention Center, measuring 418 feet tall. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel will operate on the first 19 floors, with 125 rooms. The 17 floors above that will be reserved for The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Honolulu, totaling 99 units.

Jim Ratkovich of Salem Partners is one of the co-managing parners of Manaolana Partners. The design team consists of auWorkshop architects+urbanists, Honolulu architecture firm AHL, Dianna Wong, Meyer Davis, Hart Howerton and Italian designer Molteni&C Dada. There will be a public water and light installation designed by Fluidity Design, which has experience with similar projects at 50 United Nations Plaza and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Daesung D3 City in Seoul, Dubai Festival City and the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California.

The Residences at Mandarin Oriental is a planned luxury residential building and hotel between Downtown Honolulu and Waikiki, Hawaii, projected to be completed in 2021. The spire tower has 36 floors that feature a total of 232 units for residents and guests. The building has 125 hotel rooms and suites with 99 private residences on the top levels of the building. These properties are designed with contemporary attributes featuring elements from Hawaiian culture. The luxury residential units are situated on the top floors of the building.
