Noelani Elementary School serves 437 from Kindergarten through Grade 5. It embraces Hawaii’s standards-based system, and provides its students access to high expectations, a rigorous curriculum, integrated technology programs, and effective teaching and assessment practices. Parents commend the teachers for incorporating hands-on projects, field trips, and extracurricular activities that their children enjoy to build solid foundational knowledge. Based on state test scores, Math proficiency at Noelani is79%, higher than the state average of 48%. English proficiency is 75%, also significantly higher than the state average of 50%. MMS reflects the economic and ethnic diversity of the Moanalua community – approximately 30% of the student population are dependents from all branches of the military, 28% are qualified for free or reduced meals, 8% receive Special Education services, and 4%  receive English Language Learner (ELL) services.
